Day Shift | Rural Family Medicine Clinic

Salary Range: $20 – $30 per hour
Pay will vary based on experience and certification level (Medical Assistant I or II).

Rural Staffing Services is partnering with a welcoming rural healthcare organization in south-central Washington to recruit Medical Assistants for a busy family medicine clinic serving a close-knit rural community.

In rural healthcare, Medical Assistants are often the heartbeat of the clinic. Your work helps keep patient care moving smoothly and ensures families feel comfortable, supported, and cared for.

Position Overview

Medical Assistants support physicians and clinical staff in delivering high-quality patient care. This role helps coordinate patient flow, prepares patients for visits, documents information in the electronic medical record, and assists with clinical procedures.

You will work closely with providers, nurses, and other care team members to ensure each patient receives efficient and compassionate care.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare patients for examinations and procedures
Record vital signs, medical history, symptoms, and medications
Assist providers during examinations and treatments
Administer vaccines and medications within scope of practice
Collect specimens and perform basic lab testing as allowed
Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record
Communicate important patient information to providers
Assist with prescription refill requests and test result follow-up
Maintain clean, safe, and organized patient care areas
Support daily clinic operations including patient flow and phone communication

Medical Assistant II roles may also assist with:

Aseptic and sterile procedures
Electrocardiography (EKG)
Injections and medication administration within certification scope

Qualifications

Education

High school diploma or GED required

Licensure and Certifications

MA I

Washington State Medical Assistant Registration required or ability to obtain within 30 days
BLS certification required

MA II

Washington State Medical Assistant Certification required
National certification through an approved organization (AAMA, AMT, NHA, NCCT, or AMCA)
BLS certification required

Experience

At least one year of direct patient care experience preferred
