Role Overview:
As a Senior Financial Controller, you will oversee the financial management of the business, ensuring strong financial control, reporting, and strategic planning. You will work closely with senior management to support decision-making, optimise profitability, and maintain financial stability. This role requires a hands-on approach, as well as the ability to provide high-level financial insight to drive business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support business growth and sustainability.
- Prepare and present accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to senior management.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, tax obligations, and statutory requirements.
- Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and financial risk management.
- Conduct financial analysis to identify areas for cost reduction and operational improvement.
- Oversee payroll, accounts payable, and receivable functions.
- Lead and mentor finance staff, ensuring strong internal controls and best practices.
- Collaborate with project managers to monitor budgets and financial performance of ongoing projects.
- Liaise with external auditors, accountants, and regulatory bodies.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's or Masters degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- 3-5 years experience in a senior financial role, preferably in the construction, landscaping, or design industry.
- Strong financial acumen with expertise in budgeting, financial planning, and risk management.
- Excellent knowledge of accounting software and financial reporting tools.
- Experience with project-based accounting and cost management.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining attention to detail.
