Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Project Manager with a background in industrial engineering to lead and manage multiple large-scale construction and capital projects on a part-time, hybrid basis. The ideal candidate will have more than 10 years of experience in project management, with a strong focus on construction and capital projects. Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is required, and experience with federal funding and knowledge of technology will be highly valued. A PMP certification is preferred but not mandatory. The project has an expected duration of three to four years. The position offers a flexible work arrangement, with both remote and on-site responsibilities in the Metropolitan Area, Puerto Rico. This role is offered under a professional services contract.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage multiple related projects in the construction and capital project space, ensuring that each is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
- Develop, implement and manage master project plan and schedules, and monitor deliverables to ensure timely project delivery.
- Monitor contractor billings to ensure the project stays within budget.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders, in both English and Spanish.
- Monitor and control all phases of the project lifecycle, including planning, execution, and closing.
- Ensure projects meet quality, safety, and environmental standards.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to minimize potential issues.
- Manage project resources, including personnel and meeting facilities.
- Communicate regularly with stakeholders in both languages to provide project updates and address any issues or concerns.
- Leverage technology to streamline project management processes and improve communication and data management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, with a strong focus on construction and capital projects.
- PMP certification is highly preferred.
- Proven track record of successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring each is delivered within budget and time constraints.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is required for effective communication with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Experience with federal funding processes and regulatory compliance will be highly valued.
- Familiarity with project-related technology platforms to optimize project workflow and data management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Familiarity with construction safety regulations and industry best practices.
