Fractional Chief Product Officer (6–8 Hours per Week) – FinTech / Remote

PLEASE READ THE FULL JOB DESCRIPTION BEFORE APPLYING

Location: Remote
Working Pattern: Fractional – approximately 6–8 hours per week
Environment: Early-Stage FinTech

About the Opportunity

Our client is an early-stage FinTech developing technology for businesses operating within an increasingly digital and international financial environment.

As the business progresses from early product development towards greater commercial readiness, it is building out its senior leadership team and is seeking an experienced Fractional Chief Product Officer.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Founder/CEO and engineering leadership to turn an ambitious proposition into a focused, commercially viable product strategy.

This is a build-stage opportunity. You will not be inheriting a large Product organisation, mature roadmap or established Product infrastructure.

The opportunity therefore requires someone capable of combining strategic Product leadership with practical decision-making and execution.

Further details regarding the engagement and participation structure will be discussed directly with candidates progressing through the process.

Application – Mandatory Qualifying Questions

Please submit your CV together with a cover letter answering each of the following:

  1. What senior Product leadership experience do you have within FinTech, financial services or complex B2B technology?
  2. Please provide a specific example of a product you personally helped take from concept, prototype or early development towards commercial deployment.
  3. What experience do you have translating a founder-led or technically complex proposition into a prioritised product roadmap?
  4. What experience do you have with product pricing, packaging and commercialisation?
  5. Do you have experience within trade finance, payments, lending, banking, financial infrastructure, Web3/blockchain or another relevant financial-services environment? Please explain.
  6. This opportunity requires approximately 6–8 hours per week. Can you consistently commit to this alongside your other professional commitments?

All six questions are mandatory. Applications that do not answer every mandatory qualifying question will be automatically disqualified and will not progress further.

What You'll Be Doing

You will help establish and lead the company's Product discipline, including:

  • Owning and refining product strategy and roadmap
  • Translating commercial opportunities into clear product priorities
  • Defining requirements and use cases
  • Working closely with engineering leadership
  • Supporting product positioning, packaging and pricing
  • Prioritising integrations and product opportunities
  • Supporting pilot and proof-of-concept development
  • Bringing customer and institutional requirements into product decision-making
  • Establishing scalable Product-management disciplines
  • Helping leadership distinguish immediate priorities from longer-term opportunities

What We're Looking For

You should bring substantial Product leadership experience, strong commercial instincts and the ability to operate effectively in ambiguity.

Experience within FinTech, payments, lending, trade finance, banking infrastructure, financial APIs, Web3/blockchain or other complex regulated technology environments would be particularly valuable.

We are more interested in evidence of what you have personally built, influenced and commercialised than job title alone.

Engagement Structure

This is a fractional engagement of approximately 6–8 hours per week, designed to operate alongside other compatible professional commitments.

The structure is centred on longer-term participation in the development and growth of an early-stage venture rather than a conventional executive package at this stage.

Full details will be discussed with candidates progressing through the process.
