Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Technical Writer to join our remote team and support documentation efforts for large-scale system modernization initiatives. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to produce clear, structured, and compliant documentation that supports the transition from legacy systems to modern digital platforms.
The ideal candidate will be capable of translating complex technical concepts into clear, user-friendly documentation suitable for government stakeholders and end users. This role may also involve mentoring junior writers and developing internal documentation standards, guidelines, and best practices.
Key Responsibilities

Gather and analyze technical information from engineers, developers, and other stakeholders to produce accurate documentation for government entities, including:

System architecture documentation

Integration guides and API documentation

Business requirement documents (BRD, SRS, URS)

Compliance and regulatory reports

Develop user manuals, administrator guides, tutorials, and training materials for system users.

Lead the creation and improvement of documentation templates in collaboration with technical teams.

Review and edit documentation produced by team members to ensure clarity, consistency, and compliance with government standards such as data privacy, accessibility, and audit requirements.

Ensure all documentation aligns with government regulations related to accessibility (e.g., WCAG), security, privacy, and plain language standards.

Maintain and update documentation repositories using tools such as Confluence, SharePoint, and Azure DevOps throughout the project lifecycle.

Manage documentation workflows, including version control and iterative updates using tools like Confluence, Azure DevOps, SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat Pro.

Conduct workshops and interviews with subject matter experts (SMEs) to capture complex technical information and convert it into clear, accessible documentation.

Participate in agile processes such as design reviews, sprint demonstrations, and peer reviews to incorporate feedback into documentation.

Contribute to project planning by defining documentation scope, timelines, and quality checkpoints aligned with agile methodologies.

Support post-deployment documentation updates, knowledge transfer, and user adoption initiatives in government environments.
Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of professional experience in technical writing (5+ years preferred), ideally within software development, IT transformation, or government/public-sector projects.

Bachelors degree in English with technical exposure, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience or certifications.

Strong written and verbal proficiency in both Arabic and English, with the ability to produce bilingual technical documentation.

Familiarity with standard technical terminology in both languages.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with strong document formatting and structuring skills.

Hands-on experience with documentation and collaboration tools such as Confluence, Azure DevOps, SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
