Menarini Asia-Pacific’s revenues in 2020 were ~US$730m, representing 16% of the Group’s total. It is a fast-growing engine of growth and has strong yet realistic ambitions to hit the US$1b milestone within the next 2 years primarily via inorganic expansion opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
  • Together with the Regional BD team, work on the implementation of the short to medium term BD blue-print for Menarini in China, in line with company’s aspirations, product portfolio and development pipeline, via the following activities:
    • Active scouting and championing Menarini’s partnering proposition to identify the opportunities including local and imported in-licensing assets (both commercialized and development-stage), acquisitions (portfolio or product)
    • Work closely with New Product Planning Team to develop detailed business cases in coordination with Marketing, Regulatory, Medical Affairs, Finance and other relevant functions to identify key business risks, upsides, facilitate Management’s decision-making and drive towards deal achievement
    • Lead due diligence workstreams through cross-functional communication with internal stakeholders and partners
    • Support negotiation of key deal terms and conditions in close coordination with Regional and Corporate BD
  • Support Regional BD team’s strategic initiatives through solid analysis, presentation decks and overall deliver high-quality products
  • Develop, nurture and maintain strong relationships with related prospective partners, whilst championing Menarini’s partnering proposition credibly and knowledgeably to enhance Menarini’s ability to secure attractive opportunities
  • Attend and represent Menarini Group in related industry conferences
  • Support Alliance team in various activities emerging from recent deals

Position Requirements
Work Experience
  • Minimum 8 years of Business Development in pharmaceutical or biotech industry
  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams to accomplish shared goals
  • Experience in working with long-term partnerships and MNCs
  • Demonstrate uncompromising integrity
  • Experience in managing Business Development projects with a fair knowledge in dealing with in-licensing, out-licensing and Mergers and Acquisitions projects

Education
  • Life science or business degree background preferred
  • Masters preferred (including MBA), from a reputed university in China or globally

Ability to Travel
  • 15-20%, mostly within China and with business trips for internal meetings at Regional HQ (Singapore) and Corporate HQ (Florence, Italy) as well as external meetings on need basis
