Job Title: Supplier Quality and Compliance Technologist

Location: Stratford upon Avon, UK

Salary: £40k (Depends on Experience)

Working Hours: 7am to 4pm

Fixed Shifts: 5 shifts of 9 hours across 7 days (Sunday to Thursday or Tuesday to Saturday)

About the Role:

A new opportunity has become available for an experienced Technical Compliance Technologist to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing product safety, quality, and compliance across a diverse range of fresh produce. You will play a key part in overseeing supplier management, ensuring all products meet strict food safety, ethical, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supplier Management: Oversee the approval and ongoing performance of suppliers, ensuring adherence to food safety, ethical practices, and regulatory standards.
  • Auditing and Compliance: Conduct audits of suppliers to verify compliance with company and industry standards, and manage corrective actions as needed.
  • Product Safety and Quality: Ensure that all products meet stringent safety and quality requirements, driving continuous improvement in product standards.
  • Specification Management: Maintain accurate product specifications to ensure compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with procurement, commercial teams, and other departments to ensure seamless product flow and address any issues related to supplier performance.
  • Sustainability Initiatives: Support the implementation of the company's sustainability strategy, contributing to long-term environmental and ethical goals.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Supplier Management Expertise: Previous experience managing supplier approval processes and understanding Retail customer expectations from end to end.
  • Industry Experience: Experience in the fresh produce sector is highly desirable, but we welcome candidates with a strong background in the food industry.
  • Technical Standards: Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, compliance standards, and ethical sourcing.
  • Audit and Compliance: Experience in conducting supplier audits is preferred, but not must.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Language Skills: While Spanish is not the must, its an advantage due to the number of suppliers from Spanish-speaking countries.

Other Requirements:

  • Educated to QCF level 4/5 in Food Science, Technology, Agriculture, or a related discipline.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic data management systems.
  • Attention to detail, with ability to multitask, prioritise, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • A hands-on, problem-solving mindset with a commitment to delivering results.
