Job Purpose:

As the Technical Compliance Manager, you will oversee the depots compliance function, focusing on health & safety and food safety. You will be responsible for the management, development, and auditing of the Total Quality Management System (TQMS), ensuring robust process controls and procedures to deliver safe and consistent products. You will also drive the food safety culture across the depot, implementing best practices and enhancing operational resilience.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the technical operations performance of the depot, ensuring adherence to health and safety, food safety, and environmental standards.
- Manage and excel in regulatory and customer audits, including announced and unannounced inspections.
- Provide strong leadership to achieve successful compliance outcomes.
- Develop, administer, and audit the TQMS across the depot.
- Ensure team training to meet safety, legal, policy, and customer expectations.
- Implement a continuous improvement program for health and safety and food safety.
- Address and resolve technical compliance issues promptly and effectively.
- Set clear objectives, review performance, and offer coaching and mentoring to team members.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and explain process controls' impact and benefits.
- Maintain understanding and training of customer portal systems.
- Act as HACCP Team Leader, ensuring compliance with HACCP, TQMS, Risk Assessments, and Validation systems.
- Adhere to NPD processes and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Uphold brand quality and integrity, following the Business Code of Conduct.

About You:
- Genuine passion for technical compliance and advancing best practices.
- Up-to-date knowledge of food and regulatory standards and common retail customer standards.
- Collaborative, resilient, and globally minded.
- Proven track record in maintaining product safety and compliance systems.
- Skilled in stakeholder management and conflict resolution.

Qualifications:
- Degree in Food Science, Horticulture, Agricultural Discipline, or equivalent.
- HACCP Level 4.
- Level 4 Food Safety Supervision for Manufacturing.
- Internal & 3rd Party Auditing experience.
- Food Hygiene for Manufacturing Level 4.
- NEBOSH Certificate or Diploma.

Work Experience:
- Demonstrated leadership in a fresh produce/food or horticultural production environment.
- Hands-on experience with BRC or other GFSI-based certifications and food safety programs.
- Proven ability to build high-performing teams and drive continuous improvement.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and managerial skills.
- Meticulous data handling and trend analysis.
- Project management experience.

Mobility:
- Flexibility to travel to other UK sites and international farming operations as needed.
- Clean, full UK driving license required.
