Job Purpose:

We are currently seeking a dynamic National Account Manager to lead and develop commercial relationships with major grocery retail and/or wholesale accounts. This pivotal role will oversee a portfolio spanning various fruit and vegetable categories, driving sales through strategic marketing plans and achieving key performance indicators (KPIs). The ideal candidate will enhance company's market position by delivering consistent supply availability and maximising value across the value chain.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily management of accounts, identifying customer needs and developing long-term account plans.
  • Develop comprehensive knowledge of product range, specifications, and supply sources.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key buyers and network effectively across accounts and industry.
  • Create and execute joint business plans specific to product categories.
  • Prepare annual business plans by volume and value, monitor and achieve budgeted sales and trading contributions.
  • Identify new business opportunities by reviewing market trends and using consumer insights data.
  • Ensure timely payment of invoices in collaboration with the Finance Department.
  • Work closely with sourcing and planning teams to ensure accuracy in forecasting and consistent service delivery.
  • Build and develop sourcing relationships focusing on cost efficiency, yield management, quality, and reliability.
  • Manage sourcing risks related to political, environmental, and competitive factors.

Skills and Experience:

  • Extensive experience in the UK fresh produce global supply value chain, with a strong track record in chilled category management.
  • Degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
  • Proven experience in contract and supply negotiation.
  • Agricultural and agronomic understanding.
  • International logistics and cultural knowledge.
  • Familiarity with BRC, Leaf, TNC, Global Gap, ETI, and Organics standards.
  • Strong project management and reporting skills.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Results-driven with a logical approach and strong work ethic.
  • Effective team player with excellent communication abilities.
  • Resilient under pressure, with good emotional management.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.

Mobility:

  • Flexibility to travel to various sites within the UK.
  • Occasional international travel to client sites, conferences, and exhibitions.
  • Full UK driving license required.

Location: Greenford, London, UK

Pay: Up to: £55k + bonus

Hours of work: normal hours of work are 08AM-5PM, Monday to Friday. Due to the nature of the business, 24/7 operation, it is also requires working half day either Saturday or Sunday once in two weeks.
