About the job Parts Counter & Outside Purchase
- Reads appropriate manuals to ascertain type and specification of parts.
- Provides pricing and product information to customers.
- Dispenses parts to the service department and body shop.
- Orders out-of-stock parts requested by customers.
- Assists customers in selecting and purchasing parts.
- Places special orders for parts.
- Meets departmental production and profitability goals.
- Answers telephone promptly and consistent with dealership guidelines.
- Records all hours worked accurately in company timekeeping system.
- Follow Safeguards rules and regulations.
- Supports the workshop supervisor, sales team and service team when it requires.
- Compare and evaluate offer from suppliers
- Negotiate contract term of agreement and pricing
- Track orders and ensure timely delivery
- Review quality of purchased products.
- Enter order details (e.g. vendors, quantities, price) into internal databases
- Maintain update records of purchased product, delivery information and invoice.
- Prepare report on purchases including cost analyses
- Monitor stock levels and place orders as needed.-Other duties as assigned.
