Overview of the Role

The General Manager for John Deere at Capital Automotive Ltd. Myanmar is responsible for overseeing the full scope of operations including sales, marketing, aftersales, and administration. The role requires strategic leadership to meet financial targets, manage internal and external relationships, and drive business growth. The GM will report to the Co-CEO and be based in Yangon, with oversight over multiple teams and coordination with global and regional stakeholders including John Deere International and RMA Group.

Capital Automotive Ltd. Myanmar is a Joint Venture entity between RMA Group and Capital Diamond Star Group (CDSG).

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead the sales, marketing, and aftersales service teams to meet monthly and annual targets.
  • Establish and manage sales targets and coverage plans; evaluate team performance based on sales data.
  • Approve and implement incentive programs to drive performance.
  • Guide the development and execution of marketing strategies to boost brand awareness and market share.
  • Ensure strong internal communications and foster team collaboration across all functions.
  • Develop open communication channels with senior leadership and committees.
  • Maintain financial oversight, including budgeting, cost control, and revenue management.
  • Monitor and evaluate customer service operations, improving SOPs and service campaigns.
  • Review inventory and stock levels to support strategic planning.
  • Participate in John Deere product meetings and ensure compliance with sales policies and SOPs.
  • Act as a mentor and coach to develop team capabilities, resolve conflicts, and support recruitment.
  • Stay updated on market trends, competitors, and technical knowledge as a subject matter expert.

Background and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business Management is highly preferred.
  • Proven leadership experience, preferably in service industries, contract services, or hospitality.
  • Strong customer focus and entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Demonstrated high level decision-making, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage with clients and senior management.
  • Experience leading through other managers and cross-functional teams.

Additional Details

  • The role requires domestic travel, particularly to Mandalay and other regions as needed.
  • Occasional international travel may be required depending on business needs.
  • The position may involve mentoring and coaching responsibilities and overseeing performance management systems.
