Overview of the Role
The Procurement Manager at Comin Laos, based in Vientiane, plays a critical role in leading procurement activities across the organization. This role is responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, ensuring contract compliance, overseeing procurement budgets, and supporting cross-functional collaboration to achieve business goals efficiently and cost-effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Procurement Strategy Development
Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with company objectives; forecast demand and plan purchasing accordingly. - Supplier Management
Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers; conduct performance reviews to ensure quality and compliance. - Contract Management
Draft, review, and oversee procurement contracts; manage contract lifecycle and resolve issues. - Purchase Order Management
Supervise creation and approval of purchase orders; coordinate with suppliers for timely deliveries. - Budget Management
Manage the procurement budget; conduct cost analysis and seek opportunities for savings. - Market Research & Analysis
Stay updated on industry trends and supplier capabilities; analyze procurement data to guide decisions. - Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with finance, operations, and logistics teams; align procurement efforts across departments. - Reporting and Documentation
Generate procurement reports for management; maintain accurate transaction records. - Team Leadership
Lead and support the procurement team; drive professional development and teamwork. - Financial Management
Oversee cost control, purchase orders, supplier payments, and financial reporting. - Internal & External Communication
Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers; enforce policies and standardize procurement processes.
Background and Experience
- Proven expertise in procurement and supply chain management
- Strong financial acumen and negotiation skills
- Experience with cost control, contract management, and supplier relationship management
- Strategic thinking and effective communication abilities
- Degree in a related field is preferred
- Leadership experience with team management responsibilities
Additional Details
The position requires travel on a regular basis, including:
- National travel for site visits
- Regional travel for inter-company meetings and trainings
- Global travel for supplier conventions
The role involves regular interaction with senior management and demands high-level coordination across multiple departments and external vendors.
