Overview of the role.

RMA Cambodia is the Authorized Importer & Dealer many brands in Cambodia. This role is to lead the Auto Luxury brand business, with full P&L responsibility to achieve agreed targets aligned with overall group objectives. The General Manager also leads, coaches and motivates the Dealerships Management Team comprising Sales, Marketing, Administration and After-Sales with the application of best business practices.

Key objectives

General Management

  • Develop and manage overall business plans and budgets for the Cambodia operation
  • Take the business forward providing vision, inspiration and professionalism of the highest standard
  • Maximize profits and return on investment over the long term by the prudent and efficient use of resources
  • Ensure all departments achieve profit targets, maintain margins and control expenses as detailed in budgets and business plan
  • Develop and manage national sales and service network that maximizes market share, minimizes costs and provides a great customer experience
  • Manages the Dealerships relationship with Auto Luxury brand

Sales & Aftersales

  • Work with and oversee Departmental Managers to ensure adequate inventory for demand without being excessive
  • Look for ways to increase market share and exploit new markets to achieve or exceed dealership and manufacturers objectives
  • Maintain the highest level of customer satisfaction (measured according to OEM practices) and the lowest rate of customer defection without sacrificing profitability
  • Continuously refine and improve the quality of customer interaction, satisfaction and retention by working towards improving standards, providing the best facilities and the highest technical skills
  • Ensure the highest standards of customer relations management to ensure all customers continued loyalty
  • Ensure through the after sales team that vehicles under repair are repaired in an expeditious manner and to international standards

Marketing

  • Manages the specification, model mix, ordering & pricing of new vehicle stock, evaluating part exchange vehicles and pre-owned car stock turn decisions
  • Regularly review pricing policy, discounts and trade-in dealing to ensure profitability level is maintained
  • Develop and manage marketing campaigns including prospecting, internet use, and all forms of advertising and promotional activities to ensure their success and cost-effectiveness
  • Explore and research customer opinions and their satisfaction with the services provided by the businesses Ascertain and benchmark performance levels and identify requirements for improvement
  • Inspire the local staff develop new ways to pro-actively market the vehicles. Provide an environment where all new suggestions and ideas are fully explored and exploited so that the dealership will prosper in the most cost-effective manner possible
  • Ensure that any electronic information such as CRM, e-mail links and website data is accurate and kept up to date
  • Work with the sales team in managing and developing sales to both retail, fleet & diplomatic clients
  • Effectively manages the relationships between Auto Luxury brand business and both internal and external stakeholders (including finance leasing companies, suppliers, vendors, shareholders, official bodies, business groups)

Finance and Treasury and Government

  • Work with Group Treasury and external creditors to ensure proper funding of the business
  • Work with financial institutions to develop hire purchase and retail credit programs for clients
  • Work with Directors and Government Agencies for the proper importation of vehicles at the correct legal customs duty and tax rates
  • Ensure proper homologation of future vehicles.

Technical Responsibilities

  • Ensure that changes in regulatory requirements are understood and, where necessary, working practices changed.
  • Stay up-to-date with technical developments in the industry

Financial Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage overall business plans and budgets for the operations
  • Develop and manage pricing policies & discounts. .
  • Maintain departmental cost control
  • Maximise gross profit per vehicle sold
  • Manage the P&L and deliver on Budgeted Sales Volume, Revenue, Margin, Expense and Net Profit targets

Team leadership

  • Establish and maintain employee levels in conjunction with departmental managers and HR Manager
  • Establish training needs for all staff, plan the program & maintain records of training. Ensure up-to-date and accurate documentation to allow grant and fee redemption (if available) from time to time.
  • Ensure that in-dealership training takes place using skilled staff members to provide the highest standards of training in a cost-effective manner.
  • Work closely with and motivate all staff within the dealership in order that they work to the highest degree of commitment and attention to customer needs.
  • Build relationships with all management and staff in order to provide them with the support, coaching and encouragement needed to improve all aspects of their job performance.

Background and experience

  • Excellent English verbal and written communications skills
  • At least 10 years direct work experience in Automotive Dealership / Sales management
  • Proven track record in profitable P&L management.
  • Ability to connect with high net worth individuals, with a flair to build & enhance relationships
  • Strong understanding of management of social media marketing
  • Whilst no specific degree or certification is required it is anticipated the position holder will be educated to degree level and, ideally, also hold an MBA
  • Ideally, be fluent or highly conversant in Khmer
