Overview of the role
The European Sales & BD Manager will work closely with the Regional Sales Manager to develop and manage prospective customers and existing strategies and related operational plans to maximize sales and profits in the region, with main focus on Southern Europe / Iberia region.
Overall responsibilities and objectives
- Assist in the development of the regional sales strategy and its execution in the regional market.
- Support the management of existing and new customer relationships
- Provide valuable market information with regular reporting to regional management on identification including competition, co-operation/partnership opportunities and support requirements for new sales opportunities
- Support the regional manager in coordination with Sales Administration, Regional Modification Centers and the RMA Regional Centers of Excellence (Finance, Purchasing, and Logistics) with offices based in the USA, Middle East and Africa and Asia Pacific
Functional Responsibilities
- Increase sales in the defined customer base, maximizing profit
- Work with converters in the region to increase vehicle sales for export markets
- Promote sales of modified products from RMA Modification Facilities
- Represent company at relevant trade & product exhibitions in the region (defense/rescue/emergency segments)
- Maintain prospect and customer records in the CRM system (Salesforce)
- Develop and maintain market information in conjunction with Ford and vehicle converters in Europe and identify the in-market main contacts and key influencers for current customers and prospects
- Achieve agreed sales targets (both revenue and margin)
Background and experience
- 3 years+ experience in either automotive fleet sales or a track record of sales of equipment or services
- Multilingual Proficient in English and Spanish (other European languages in addition is an advantage)
- A track record in developing new business opportunities
- Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
- Demonstrated ability to set goals and priorities maximizing the use of available resources to consistently deliver results in line with corporate directions, departmental objectives and customer expectations (including the understanding of pricing models that impact the business)
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain a broad network of contacts, and to involve it timely and appropriately to keep a pulse on internal and external issues, make informed decisions, reach objectives and minimize obstacles
Travel Requirements
International trade shows and customer visits in Europe (Southern Europe / Spain in particular), occasionally to head offices in USA and Thailand and other destinations as required.
