Electrical Engineer - Solar Energy

Role Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer specializing in electrical systems for solar energy projects. This role is responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing the implementation of solar PV systems, ensuring adherence to industry-leading standards in quality, safety, and performance. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise in electrical engineering and a commitment to advancing renewable energy solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Construction Drawing Review:

• Verify electrical drawings, solar system and specifications against project requirements on site.

• Identify and address any design discrepancies or potential issues with the electrical layout.

Installation Supervision:

• Oversee the installation of all electrical components including solar panels, inverters, transformers, cables, mounting structure and grounding systems.

• Monitor contractor performance and ensure adherence to installation standards and safety protocols.

Quality Control:

• Conduct regular inspections of electrical installations to verify quality and compliance with project specifications.

• Perform necessary testing and commissioning procedures on electrical systems.

Coordination and Communication:

• Collaborate with other site teams like subcontractors, engineers, project coordinator and project management team to ensure smooth project execution.

• Communicate effectively with contractors, subcontractors, and project stakeholders regarding electrical issues and progress updates.

Troubleshooting and Problem Solving:

• Identify and resolve electrical issues that arise during installation or commissioning.

• Analyze electrical data to diagnose potential problems and implement corrective actions.

Safety Compliance:

• Ensure adherence to all electrical safety regulations and site safety procedures.

• Conduct regular safety inspections at site construction with HSEQ officer

Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain comprehensive site documentation including electrical installation logs, inspection reports, and non-conformance reports.

• Prepare regular progress reports for the project engineer and project manager.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or knowledge of clean energy is a plus
• Experience with solar photovoltaic (PV) systems and construction is a plus
• Knowledge of electrical codes and standards relevant to solar installations
• Strong understanding of electrical construction practices and procedures
• Excellent communication and coordination abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficient in electrical design software and project management tools
• English communication skills
