About the job Head of Tax
Key Job Responsibilities
- Negotiate and deal with multi-level tax authorities (GDT) on behalf of clients to resolve tax disputes and minimize tax liabilities
- Maintain healthy high-profile relationships with GDT officials and Ministry of Commerce. Develop a key role of advocacy to GDT
- Maintain close and detailed follow up of all exchanges and outstanding points of discussion with GDT
- Provide expert advice and guidance on tax-related matters, including tax planning, compliance, and reporting across multiple tax jurisdictions.
- Work closely with each entity to understand their business objectives and provide customized tax solutions to meet their needs across multiple tax jurisdictions.
- Conduct tax research and analysis to identify opportunities for tax savings and advise on tax implications of business decisions across multiple tax jurisdictions.
- Review tax returns, including income tax, sales tax, and other relevant tax filings across multiple tax jurisdictions.
- Stay up-to-date with changes to tax regulations and laws across multiple tax jurisdictions and communicate these changes to clients.
- Supervise and mentor the whole Tax team
Education Knowledge and Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; advanced degree or CPA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of tax experience, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or senior role dealing with multi-level tax authorities.
- Prior experience dealing at high-level with General Tax Department
- Strong knowledge of tax regulations and laws across multiple tax jurisdictions, including federal, state, and local taxes.
- Proven track record of negotiating and dealing with multi-level tax authorities to resolve tax disputes and minimize tax liabilities.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the whole tax team and managers from related companies
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience with tax software and related technology.
Additional Information (if any) :
Location: This position is based in RMAC Head-quarter Phnom Penh office. Some travel may be required to meet with clients or attend training events.
