About the job Credit Manager
Job Description:
- Understand the credit risk, industry risk and regulations of leasing industry.
- Approve credit applications within the delegated authority and in line with BSPFs credit policy and underwriting standards. Ensure the quality of the BSPF credit portfolio is maintained through appropriate credit decisions and monitoring that upholds the principles, policies and procedures as established by the BSPF Board currently and in the future.
- Maintain the lending policies and procedures manual, including the development of new or modification of existing credit policies and procedures.
- To be responsible for all the credit functions within the business.
- Supervision of the credit approval process of all lending provided by BSPF;
- Ensure appropriate guidance and development is provided to all lending officers through ongoing training that provides adequate understanding and skills to be able to administer BSPF policies and procedures to protect BSPFs investment in lending assets
- Review all Credit Applications and recommend to Credit Committee for approval if outside the BSPF Credit Managers DCA.
- Provide decision on credit applications within the delegated authority and in line with BSPFs credit policy and underwriting standards.
- Maintain the lending policies and procedures manual including the development of new or modification of existing credit policies and procedures on a yearly basis for BSP Finance.
- Write up new Policies and review existing policies to ensure all new changes are embedded into the existing policies.
- Ensure all credit decisions made are in line with the risk appetite of BSPF as established by the Board.
- Assist with remediating all Credit Inspection issues identified during the inspection process for all the countries where BSPF operates and make sure all these issues are closed.
- Act as secretary for the Credit Committee for credit approval and credit risk and portfolio management
- Conduct trainings to internal staffs on topics that are related to BSPF business, policies, process, procedures, etc.
- Ensure all Condition Precedent and Condition Subsequent are met prior to settlement for approved deals.
- Assist with other business reporting such as Credit Committee, EXCO, Board Committees etc
- Provide advice and assistance to Sales officers with respect to credit assessment, deal structuring and arrears management
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- High level of integrity and professionalism
- Other tasks are relevant to the collection function and disciplines.
Requirement:
- At least bachelor degree of law, business, management, marketing, or communication.
- Master degree is preferable.
- Certificate of Responsible Lending from IBF (NBC compliance)
- Can work under pressure. Being motivative, energetic and analtical abilities
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Solid understanding of local regulations governing credit risk.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
- Superior skills and understanding of financial statement analysis and credit assessment is required.
- A good understanding of financial and business risks.
- Thorough knowledge of (or ability to quickly gain understanding of) BSPF credit policies and procedures.
- Ability to persuade / convince people to enable consensus to be reached where disputes occur.
