The Express Food Group (EFG) is a leading multi brand restaurant business operating almost 200 outlets across Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar. The Group is the market leader in Cambodia with close to 150 restaurants across 9 brands. Laos also has significant operations with 32 outlets across 5 formats while Myanmar is smaller with 10 outlets. The Pizza Company is the main brand across the group and is the market leader in each of the countries.
The Group CFO will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial strategy, ensuring fiscal discipline, and driving growth for our restaurant chain. As the financial leader, they will collaborate closely with the executive team and oversee financial operations across multiple countries. The CFO EFG Financial Heads of each function will report into this position.
Key responsibilities
Financial Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and execute a robust financial strategy aligned with the Groups growth objectives
- Create and maintain financial models, projections, and budgets
- Assess investment opportunities and provide recommendations for capital allocation
Financial Reporting and Compliance:
- Oversee financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance
- Manage financial audits and regulatory filings
- Implement internal controls and risk management practices
Cash Management and Funding:
- Optimize cash flow, liquidity, and working capital
- Evaluate debt and equity financing options
- Coordinate with banks and investors for funding needs
- Mitigate currency risks and regulatory challenges
Business Performance Analysis:
- Collaborate with MD and Country to analyse financial data and performance metrics
- Provide insights on revenue, expenses, profitability, and cost efficiencies
- Monitor financial performance across countries and brands
- Identify growth opportunities and potential risks
Organic Growth and New Brands:
- Collaborate with the MD and the Group business development teams
- Evaluate expansion opportunities, including new brands and markets
- Assess feasibility, ROI, and integration plans
Stakeholder Management:
- Engage with the Board of Directors, investors, and external partners
- Communicate financial performance, strategic initiatives, and risks
- Represent the Group in investor roadshows
Education and background
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Masters or CPA preferred)
- Proven track record as a CFO or senior finance executive in the restaurant or hospitality industry
- Experience managing multi-country operations
- Demonstrated expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, and analysis
- Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
- Strategic thinking and adaptability
