About the job Inventory Officer/ Parts Officer
- Be a creative merchandise, you must be able to display your merchandise the part you sell to attract the customers interest.
- Be a market analyst, this mean more than just knowing about the kinds and models of machines in your territory. You must know the conditions, too, and be aware of changes that can produce demand for certain kinds of equipment. In short, keep aware at all times of any change in local conditions that might affect part sales.
- Be an inventor specialist, dont underestimate the import of keeping good records, and following recommend ordering programs (80% SO / 20% MD orders) to assure availability of part and a healthy inventory turnover.
- Know the mechanics of Ag equipment, know what the equipment sold in your territory is designed to do and how it operates. In this way you can anticipate customer needs in selecting parts for inventory.
- Be business owner, understanding the relationship of investment to sales, how to calculate overhead, and the cost of heading orders, particularly machine-down order. As a good parts Manager, a clean and orderly Parts Department creates customer confidence. The capability of a dealership is often judge by the appearance its Parts department.
- Be an I.T. specialist, rapid development in computer software to assist inventory control, accounting function, and parts information will continue to be a major factor in the parts business for the foreseeable future.
- Maintain effective customer contact, the Parts officer must maintain a policy of treating the customer correctly. This range from personally from handing complaints to friendly personal service at the counter which makes the customer feel welcome. Maintain personal contact with large accounts both for soliciting orders and smoothing out potential complain.
- You are responsible yourself for training activities and developing yourself.
- Willingness to perform any extra tasks or assignment as advised by managers.
