A leading global automotive company is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer. The location where the role is based will be Bangkok. This person will have the responsibility of developing vehicle enhancement sales focused on, but not limited to, the Asia-Pacific and Africa regions.

The main responsibilities of the role is as follows:

  • Sales and business development of new and existing accounts, to expand reach and presence into current and strategically identified future markets
  • Managing the existing customer accounts portfolio, to maximize customer profitability and continuous improve accounts management service
  • Develop new sales leads either online or offline, to provide a readily available pipeline of potential sales that can be actioned with short notice
  • Putting together and closing deals, including responding to tenders, utilizing both vehicle enhancement knowledge as well through deep understanding and application of the customer engagement lifecycle
  • The role is a sales role, however, you will be required to draw on your program management and procurement skills to be able to understand and work the cross functional teams to pull the deal together with all the moving parts (base vehicle supply, supply chain, modification design and build, homologation, service and aftersales, finance, etc..)
  • Driving sales on both complete vehicle units as well as individual parts and accessories, though enhancing relationships with our partners, distributors, vehicle dealerships, fleet customers, and related stakeholders
  • Work closely with the partners regional management teams and support them with their initiatives to achieve close, collaborative relationships
  • Develop sales and marketing strategies to expand existing revenue streams whilst creating new channels of business and distribution
  • Able to pull together paid market research and competitive intelligence data, analyze and present results and suggested strategy for market penetration
  • Provide technical support to internal teams, to support in potential upselling of solutions related to vehicle enhancements
  • Need to be hands on with CRM (Sales Force) and on time submission of required reports (weekly, monthly and trip reports).
  • Regular travel regionally, and occasional global

Experience/background:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering and/or Business
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a automotive related technical role
  • Demonstrated experience in vehicle sales, ideally within the vehicle enhancement field
  • Experience with working with channel partners, aid and development and government business
  • Demonstrated track record of achieving results with high customer service acumen
  • Fluent in English and an additional language. Due to market location, this language is preferable a South East Asian based language
