Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Project Engineer/ Electrical Engineer specializing in electrical systems for solar energy projects. This role is responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing the implementation of solar PV systems, ensuring adherence to industry-leading standards in quality, safety, and performance. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise in electrical engineering and a commitment to advancing renewable energy solutions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Design and Planning

  • Develop comprehensive electrical designs for solar PV systems, including single-line diagrams (SLDs), cable routing plans, and system layouts.
  • Perform load calculations, energy yield estimates, and system performance simulations using software tools such as PVsyst or Helioscope.
  • Prepare Bills of Materials (BoM) and technical specifications for electrical components.

2. Site Assessment and Preparation

  • Conduct on-site surveys to evaluate project feasibility and technical requirements.
  • Collaborate with civil and structural teams to ensure proper site preparation and seamless equipment installation.

3. Implementation and Supervision

  • Oversee the installation and commissioning of electrical components, including inverters, transformers, switchgear, and cabling.
  • Ensure compliance with project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Conduct testing and troubleshooting during commissioning to optimize system performance.

4. Compliance and Documentation

  • Ensure all designs and installations comply with local electrical codes, grid interconnection standards, and safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including design files, test reports, and as-built drawings.

5. Stakeholder Coordination

  • Collaborate with project managers, clients, and contractors to align deliverables with client expectations.
  • Provide technical guidance to site teams and resolve on-site challenges efficiently.

6. Innovation and Improvement

  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and advancements in solar PV systems.
  • Identify and implement cost-effective solutions to enhance project efficiency without compromising quality.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in power sector, solar energy projects, focusing on design, execution phases and operation and maintenance
  • Experience in solar system commissioning would be advanced
  • In-depth understanding of solar PV systems, grid integration, and electrical components.
  • Proficiency in design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP) and simulation software (e.g., PVsyst, Helioscope).
  • Familiarity with safety standards (e.g., IEC) and local grid codes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
