Overview of the role
We are seeking a Technical Specialist in Suspension and Chasis for our global automotive assembly facility based in Laemchabang. Responsibilities as follows:
Knowledge responsibilities
- Automotive powertrain system (HEV, gasoline and diesel engine, engine calibration, fuel and emission)
- Powertrain Electrification, esp. e-axle, e transmission
- Driveline layout and adaptation like transfer case, differentials, propeller shafts and PTO systems.
- Gear and Spline design
- Familiar to engineering data logger and development tools/ software (CATIA/Solid Works, MoTeC, INCA, ATI Vision, Matlab, ANSIS
Functional responsibilities
- Develop powertrain systems to optimize for special operation profiles
- Enhance existing vehicles with all wheel operation in mechanical and/or electrical drive.
- Modification of drivetrains to HD usage or conversion to different power levels
- Optimize engines to run on bad fuels, extreme environmental condition and / or electric support
- Plan, conduct, analyze and report test drives and DVP
- Complied D-FMEA and DVP
- Develop design tools and handbooks to ease and harmonize the Development process.
- Compile technical data for sales and purchasing
- Define NVH standard for the driveline system
- Define driveline parameter and develop tools for driveline evaluation and specification
- Collaborate with cross- functional teams, supplier, manufacturing and quality teams on the complete life cycle of the project through product launch, and implementation of lessons learned on subsequent product
- Development of partnership supplier base in suspension and chassis components
- Key contact for customer inquiries/ field issues on powertrain and driveline topics
Background and experience
- Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engineering.
- Strong leadership and collaboration skills
- Strong Mechanical understanding
- Strong drivetrain knowledge
- High level of Chassis suspension understanding
- Must be able to work unsupervised, and be flexible in terms of working hours
- Fluent English, Thai is a plus
