Overview of the Role
The Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer plays a crucial role in the IT Operations team, delivering advanced technical expertise to maintain and improve the performance, stability, and security of the company's IT infrastructure. The role encompasses hands-on work with Windows/Linux servers, Cisco/Aruba networks, virtualization platforms, cloud services, and communication systems. Operating primarily from the Bangkok headquarters, the role also includes occasional domestic and international travel as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with IT Operations and IT Service Desk teams to ensure reliable IT service delivery.
- Participate in cross-functional projects, offering technical infrastructure insights.
- Perform maintenance, upgrades, and installations of infrastructure components, including incident management.
- Maintain accurate documentation of configurations, systems, and procedures.
- Provide remote and on-site support for infrastructure across various office locations.
- Enhance IT infrastructure with automation tools and practices.
- Respond to incidents and service requests during AU and TH time zones, including after-hours when necessary.
- Monitor system health and proactively address potential issues.
- Maintain and manage inventory of data center-related IT assets.
- Expert administration of Microsoft Windows Server services (Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Exchange, clustering, Hyper-V, HMail, and LAMP-hosted web services).
- Operational-level management of Fortigate firewalls and Cisco networking (VPNs, VLANs, firewall rules, and routing).
- Administer Office 365, AWS, and Azure platforms.
- Coordinate infrastructure setup with third-party partners, especially for new branch deployments.
Background and Experience
- Proven ability to install, upgrade, and maintain Windows and/or Linux servers (physical and virtual).
- Solid networking knowledge, including Cisco/Aruba systems, VLANs, routing, and WAN technologies.
- Hands-on experience in managed service or enterprise-level IT infrastructure operations.
- Advanced administration skills in AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms.
- Familiarity with IP telephony systems like 3CX.
- Project coordination and basic project management skills.
- Strong understanding of IT security practices.
- Experience with managed service providers preferred.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a collaborative approach to planning and execution.
- Quick learner with a proactive attitude toward keeping up with technology trends.
Additional Details
This role may involve occasional travel to both domestic and international sites to support infrastructure needs. Flexibility to work outside of standard business hours is expected in response to critical incidents or support requirements in multiple time zones.
