Overview and purpose of the role

The key role of the position OBC Monitoring Officer is Perform real-time monitoring of OBC, IVMS, GPS, ADAS, DMS, camera systems and verify driving behavior of driver and co-driver including fatigue, distraction, mobile phone use, smoking, seatbelt, harsh braking, harsh acceleration, over-speeding, night driving, insufficient rest time, unauthorized stops, suspected fraud, and other abnormal events, then take immediate action on the their violation.

Key responsibilities:

  • Perform real-time monitoring of OBC, IVMS, GPS, ADAS, DMS, and camera systems for all trucks in operation, 24 hours per day and 7 days per week (3 rotated shifts), to support compliance with PATROM requirements, TotalEnergies road safety rules, transport operation invariants, and local regulations.
  • Monitor OBC and Camera systems and verify driver behavior, including fatigue, distraction, mobile phone use, smoking, seatbelt, harsh braking, harsh acceleration, over-speeding, night driving, insufficient rest time, unauthorized stops, suspected fraud, and other abnormal event.
  • React immediately to all alarm and alert events by contacting the driver or co-driver through the OBC system or approved communication channel, instructing the driver to stop at a safe location or take corrective action when required, and escalating critical events to the Dispatcher/Transport Supervisor/Transport Manager.
  • Verify that the Transporter's OBC Monitor team reacts immediately and diligently to all events and performs the required actions described in the OBC and Camera Management Procedure.
  • Check OBC violations and alerts daily, weekly, and monthly; analyses trends; confirm whether events are genuine violations or system anomalies; and send to transport team to take corrective actions.
  • Verify during trips that OBC, camera, GPS, ADAS, DMS, communication, alert, and alarm functions are operating properly; immediately report any malfunction, disconnection, missing data, muted alert, or abnormal system setting to the Transport Supervisor and OBC service provider for correction.
  • Capture and retain evidence for each event, including event details, screenshots, GPS records, OBC reports, CCTV/MDVR footage, communication records, and corrective-action evidence.
  • Maintain clear shift handover records to ensure no monitoring gap between successive OBC/Fleet Monitors, especially at night, during weekends, public holidays, and out-of-hours transport activities.
  • Share exceptions, violations, unresolved anomalies, and immediate corrective actions with transport team.
  • Compile and submit daily, weekly, and monthly OBC/fleet monitoring reports, including violation trends, transporter responses, driver actions, system malfunctions, unresolved anomalies, and proposed improvement actions.
  • Support accident, fraud, complaint, near-miss, fatigue, distraction, night-driving, and abnormal-event investigations by collecting and analyzing relevant OBC data, GPS records, CCTV footage, MDVR footage, communication logs, and supporting evidence.
  • Support all the transport action related, work to improve Transport team area.

Background and experience:

  • At least 1 year experience in security camera monitoring
  • At least 1 year experience in transportation/logistics
  • Good level of English
  • Good communication skills, strong personality
  • Good negotiation and people's skills
  • Self-motivated and self-organized with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work on their own initiative and generate business leads
  • Creative, result-driven, able to take initiative
  • Multi tasks and strong organizational skill
  • Strong teamwork
  • Good computer skill Excel, Word, e-mail, outlook proficiency desired
