About the job Senior Shopify Developer
Job Context:
Riseup Labs is looking for a Senior Shopify Developer (Contractual) to lead the development, customization, and optimization of Shopify-based eCommerce platforms. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Shopify Liquid, theme architecture, and custom app development, along with a strong understanding of frontend performance and backend integrations. Project Duration: This position is offered on a fixed-term basis for [3/4 months], extendable based on mutual agreement and the ongoing needs of the business.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop, customize, and maintain Shopify stores (themes, templates, sections, and apps).
- Build custom Shopify apps (public/private) using Shopify API and modern frameworks.
- Integrate third-party APIs, payment gateways, and external services.
- Optimize store speed, SEO, and performance for better user experience.
- Collaborate with UI/UX designers to implement responsive and pixel-perfect designs.
- Troubleshoot issues, perform QA, and ensure smooth deployments.
- Work closely with backend and frontend teams to deliver high-quality solutions
Additional Requirements:
- 4+ years of hands-on experience with Shopify (Liquid, Polaris, Admin API, Storefront API).
- Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), jQuery, and React.
- Experience with Shopify Plus and custom app development (Node.js, Express, or Laravel).
- Understanding of GraphQL, REST APIs, and webhooks.
- Familiar with Git, CI/CD, and version control best practices.
- Strong debugging and performance optimization skills.
- Knowledge of Shopify Flow, Hydrogen, and Headless Commerce (plus point)
- Experience with Shopify Hydrogen + React.
- Familiarity with headless setups (Shopify + Next.js/Nuxt.js).
- Previous experience in an agency or SaaS environment

- Ability to work independently during office hours and deliver on deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving attitude and attention to detail
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (preferred).
