Job Purpose

Our client in Aviation is looking for Technical Sores and Logistics Manager who will be responsible for the management, control and continuous improvement of all technical Stores functions, including clearance, receiving, warehousing, issuance, delivery to point of maintenance and shipping logistics. The successful candidate will ensure regulatory compliance with respect to handling and storage of all aircraft parts and materials in addition to contributing towards efficient AOG recovery, day-to-day operations, aircraft maintenance, ground-time reduction and overall safety. By ensuring that removed parts are moved efficiently, the role contributes towards maintenance costs reduction.

Operating within a growing and transforming airline environment, this position is central to maintaining aircraft airworthiness, supporting audits and lease transitions, staff competence development and digitizing Technical Stores processes to align with airline's broader modernization goals.

The role reports to the Head of Materials and Assets and works closely with Materials Planning, Compliance, Maintenance, Shipping/Freight agents, OEMs and Regulatory Authorities.

Key Responsibilities

1.Strategic 

  • Plan future Stores and Logistics requirements based on fleet development plans.
  • Develop and maintain strong global relationships with logistics partners, freight forwarders, courier and warehouse providers.
  • Plan and secure future warehousing and storage capacity requirements.
  • Implement stock verification strategies and KPIs, including annual stock check planning and execution.
  • Develop strategies to manage stock items at outstations and support outsourced maintenance requirements.
  • Contribute to digitalization and modernization of Technical Stores processes.

2.Operational 

  • Ensure all Stores and Logistics activities comply with QA, Finance, RCAA, EASA, FAA, Transport Canada and other regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee 24/7 operations covering warehousing, receiving, customs clearance, materials/spares movement, handling, packaging and delivery to maintenance.
  • Manage import/export logistics for aircraft parts and ensure smooth shipping operations.
  • Oversee storekeeping, stock handling, spares segregation, storage condition management, and quarantine control.
  • Manage shelf-life control, calibration program of tools and equipment, and recommend surplus stock handling in consultation with Finance.
  • Manage stores inspector function including parts acceptance, storage, handling, discrepancies, labelling, records and certification traceability (Form 1, 8130, CoC).
  • Responsible for allocation of part numbers to fabricated parts in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Ensure proper storage and control of third-party customer inventory.
  • Maintain and manage all Technical Stores equipment and arrange temporary hire of heavy lifting equipment when required.
  • Verify and approve logistics service invoices related to aircraft parts.
  • Manage disposal, handling and storage of dangerous goods and hazardous materials.
  • Manage quarantine section and ensure proper processing of removed rotables for shipping, repair or disposal.
  • Ensure timely delivery of spares/materials to maintenance and efficient processing of removed parts.
  • Coordinate with service providers to ensure airline-supplied parts/materials are available for outsourced maintenance.

3.Compliance and Safety 

  • Ensure full compliance with airworthiness requirements and all applicable aviation regulations.
  • Maintain adherence to company procedures to ensure safety, compliance and airworthiness.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental policy, including waste management.
  • Responsible for SMS implementation within the section and adherence to health and safety requirements.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and traceability of all aircraft parts and materials.
  • Support audit readiness and regulatory inspections.

4.Performance Monitoring 

  • Develop and monitor KPIs for Stores responsiveness, accuracy and delivery performance.
  • Coordinate routine stock checks and inventory audits.
  • Maintain accurate stock records and documentation systems.
  • Compile sectional budgets and manage cost control initiatives.
  • Provide regular reports on stock status, logistics performance and operational efficiency.

5.Stakeholder & Supplier Management

  • Liaise with OEMs, MROs, vendors, freight forwarders and logistics service providers.
  • Represent Technical Stores in meetings with maintenance service providers and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with Compliance/QA for approved supplier management and logistics service approvals.
  • Manage supplier performance, contracts and service delivery standards.

6.Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead Stores Supervisors and Officers across all shifts ensuring high responsiveness and technical competence.
  • Develop team capability in line with fleet complexity and regulatory changes.
  • Promote a safety-first, solutions-driven culture with strong accountability and communication standards.
  • Provide training, mentoring, and professional development, especially for national staff.
  • Conduct competence assessments and maintain training records.
  • Define KPIs and performance standards for Technical Stores operations.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience within an airline or MRO handling aircraft types operated by the airline.
  • Experience with aircraft MRO systems (e.g., AMOS, TRAX).
  • Knowledge of aircraft parts certification requirements (FAA, EASA, RCAA).
  • Solid understanding of aircraft parts documentation, traceability and logistics processes.
  • IATA or ICAO training in Dangerous Goods, Human Factors, and Storekeeping (preferred).
