Job Purpose

Our Client in Aviation is seeking for an Engineering Manager who will be responsible for the management, control, and continuous improvement of all engineering functions, including airframe, powerplants, cabin, IFE, reliability, configuration management, maintenance program control and technical documentation.

The successful candidate will be in charge of ensures regulatory compliance, supports operational reliability and regulatory compliance through accurate and timely monitoring and management on continuing airworthiness technical requirements.

Operating within a growing and transforming airline environment, this position is central to maintaining aircraft airworthiness, supporting audits and lease transitions, staff competence development and digitizing engineering support processes to align with the airline broader modernization goals.

The role reports to the Head of Engineering and Planning, and works closely with Maintenance Planning, Compliance/ Safety, Quality Assurance, Maintenance, Materials, OEMs and Regulatory Authorities.

Key Responsibilities:

1.Strategic 

  • Develop and implement engineering services strategies to support aircraft airworthiness, digital transformation, optimized product cost, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure accurate and timely management of all aircraft documentation in support of fleet expansion and operational changes.
  • Contribute to development and integration of technical data management systems and MRO software platforms.
  • Support business transformation through process automation and improved data traceability.
  • Develop engineering support strategies to enhance operational reliability and efficiency.
  • Develop long-term collaboration strategies with OEMs and approved service providers.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards across all engineering services.

2.Airworthiness and Engineering Management

  • Manage all aspects of engineering to ensure continuous fleet airworthiness.
  • Monitor Airworthiness Directives (ADs), Service Bulletins (SBs), and mandatory requirements, ensuring timely compliance and updated records.
  • Coordinate implementation of ADs, SBs, and OEM documentation with Planning and Engineering.
  • Manage engineering development functions across Airframe, Systems, Avionics, Cabin, IFE, Structures, and Powerplants.
  • Maintain aircraft configuration control, including engines, modifications, and fleet status tracking.
  • Manage introduction of new part numbers and dependencies in maintenance systems.
  • Oversee engine trend analysis, oil consumption monitoring, and OEM-recommended actions.
  • Maintain engine and APU management plans to ensure operational continuity and cost control.
  • Review OEM publications, manuals, in-service data, and regulatory updates.

3. Maintenance Program Management

  • Manage Reliability Program, including stakeholder meetings and regulatory reporting.
  • Ensure integration of reliability outcomes into maintenance program optimization.
  • Develop and maintain Aircraft Maintenance Programs, including Cabin and IFE maintenance programs.
  • Support maintenance program revisions, aircraft phase-in/phase-out documentation, and effectivity reviews.
  • Manage ETOPS/EDTO, RVSM, and AWO compliance, including applications and procedural updates.
  • Coordinate with Flight Operations Engineering on MEL and CDL development and revisions.
  • Compile and revise aircraft maintenance line check sheets (Daily, Transit, Preflight, ETOPS checks).

4.Engineering Documentation and Data Control

  • Manage creation, revision, and archiving of engineering documentation (Engineering Orders, Drawings, Notices, Task Cards, Inspection tasks).
  • Ensure integrity of airworthiness records, configuration data, and technical documentation.
  • Maintain aircraft and engine storage instructions based on operational requirements.
  • Prepare documentation packages for internal audits, regulator inspections, and lessor reviews.
  • Maintain aircraft emergency equipment drawings, livery drawings, and structural repair records.
  • Ensure accurate and controlled technical records management across all systems.

5.Technical Support 

  • Provide technical support and solutions to maintenance teams for operational issues.
  • Manage technical support arrangements with OEMs and suppliers for rapid issue resolution.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of repetitive defects and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support modification programs, reliability improvements, and benchmarking initiatives.
  • Ensure effective integration of OEM and supplier data for operational improvement.

6.Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate with Engineering, Planning, QA, and Materials to ensure alignment on configuration and documentation.
  • Coordinate with Flight Operations Engineering on MEL development and operational modifications.
  • Liaise with OEMs, regulators, lessors, and Part 21 organizations on compliance, STC requirements, and data exchange.
  • Serve as key focal point during audits, aircraft transitions, lease returns, and regulatory inspections.

7.Reporting & Compliance

  • Monitor and report on engineering KPIs and reliability performance.
  • Prepare reports and documentation for audits, regulatory inspections, and compliance reviews.
  • Ensure SMS implementation within the engineering services function.
  • Responsible for engineering services budgeting and cost tracking.
  • Maintain compliance with EASA, ICAO, RCAA and other regulatory frameworks.

8.Leadership

  • Lead a team responsible for technical records, document control, and engineering services.
  • Develop staff competence in line with regulatory requirements and fleet complexity.
  • Identify training needs and support professional development of national staff.
  • Foster a strong compliance-driven, detail-oriented and continuous improvement culture.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs aligned with operational, reliability, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Aviation Maintenance, Electrical/Electronics, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in aviation technical services, engineering records, or airworthiness management.
  • Strong understanding of aircraft airworthiness documentation, configuration control, and regulatory compliance (EASA/ICAO/RCAA).

               Preferred

  • Experience with aircraft maintenance systems (e.g., AMOS, TRAX).
  • Exposure to aircraft lease transitions, audits, and maintenance program control.
  • Aircraft type training on aircraft operated by the airline.

             Key Skills 

  • Strong knowledge of airworthiness records, configuration management, and document control systems.
  • Familiarity with OEM and regulatory documentation systems.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage large datasets with high data integrity.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Fluent in English (French is an advantage).
