Key responsibilities of an HCA:

• Personal care: Assisting patients with bathing, dressing, toileting, and oral hygiene.
• Mobility support: Helping patients to safely move around the ward, using appropriate equipment if needed.
• Mealtime assistance: Serving meals and helping patients eat.
• Basic observations: Taking and recording vital signs like temperature, pulse, respiration rate, and weight.
• Patient monitoring: Observing and reporting any changes in patient condition to the nursing staff.
• Environmental care: Maintaining a clean and tidy ward environment.
• Communication: Communicating effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
