We are seeking an experienced and visionary Senior Nursing Director to join our leadership team. Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), this role is responsible for leading, implementing, and evaluating nursing operations across Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, Intensive Care (ICU), and Intermediate Care Units. The Senior Nursing Director ensures the delivery of high-quality, patient- and family-centered care while aligning with the mission, values, and strategic goals of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct the daily operations and resource management of assigned nursing units to support the overall mission and objectives of the health system.

  • Provide strategic leadership in collaboration with the CNO to help shape the long-term vision for patient care services and clinical operations.

  • Lead and evaluate nursing performance across Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, ICU, and Intermediate Care Units, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality care.

  • Promote and sustain a culture of clinical excellence, collaboration, and accountability among interdisciplinary teams.

  • Oversee the implementation of evidence-based practices, performance improvement initiatives, and quality assurance measures.

  • Support staff development through coaching, mentoring, and performance evaluations.

  • Serve as a key resource for clinical decision-making, regulatory compliance, and accreditation readiness.

  • Collaborate with physicians, administration, and other departments to improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of North Carolina (required)

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA (required)

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (required within 60 days of hire)

  • Specialty nursing certification (preferred)

Must-Haves
1. Minimum three years in healthcare management
2. NC nursing license
3. Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in ICU/CCU

Nice-To-Haves
1. will consider other applicable clinical areas in lieu of direct ICU/CCU experience
