Job Description:

Join a dynamic and award-winning workplace culture! We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the OpCo Controller position within our Controllership group, based in New York City. Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all controllership functions in the operating company, including general accounting, financial reporting, and financial systems.
  • Set clear targets, considering stakeholder priorities, and ensure accountability for support quality and overall stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Maintain awareness of operating company risks, operational issues, and challenges, proactively intervening when required, and providing detailed updates to senior management.
  • Achieve and maintain closing timetables, ensuring compliance with regulatory, statutory, and tax requirements.
  • Support the development of regional accounting policies and procedures, presenting financial statements for the assigned region.
  • Coordinate year-end statutory, audit, and tax financial requirements, ensuring compliance with rules and regulations.
  • Resolve technical accounting matters, conduct research, and liaise closely with the accounting operations team.
  • Oversee the control environment, ensuring appropriate design and consistent execution.
  • Assist with systems implementations and enhancements, focusing on maintaining the integrity of financial data, processes, and controls.

Qualifications:

  • MBA or Bachelors degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a similar discipline.
  • CPA license.
  • Multiple years of finance experience, with a significant portion in a controllership-focused role (Controller or Assistant Controller).
  • Management responsibilities in a matrixed environment.
  • Multiple years of large public accounting experience.
  • Strong work history in large, complex working environments.
