BIM Manager (DC Modular)
Job Description:
Job Title: BIM Manager – Modular Infrastructure (Data Centre)
Location: Hong Kong/South East Asia/North China (Hybrid / Office-based)
Position Type: Full-time, Permanent
Reports To: Regional Project Director / Head of Engineering
About the Client
Our client is a rapidly expanding, global mission-critical infrastructure provider specializing in next-generation, high-efficiency modular data center deployments. Renowned for their cutting-edge prefabricated solutions that accelerate traditional deployment timelines by up to 60%, they partner with hyper-scalers and enterprise cloud giants across the APAC region. Due to a massive pipeline of modular data center builds, they are looking for a high-caliber BIM Manager to lead their digital engineering and spatial coordination strategies.
Role Overview
The BIM Manager will act as the core technical anchor bridging the gap between initial pre-sales master planning, factory prefabrication teams, and site installation contractors. You will oversee the complete lifecycle of the digital twin models, focusing heavily on the integration of prefabricated Mechanical, Electrical, and Structural modules.
Because our client's primary manufacturing facility, key equipment suppliers, and regional engineering teams are located in Mainland China, native or professional fluency in Mandarin is strictly required for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- BIM Strategy & Execution: Author, implement, and audit project-specific BIM Execution Plans (BEP) in strict alignment with regional client requirements and global ISO 19650 standards.
- Modular Integration (DfMA): Oversee the seamless structural, architectural, and multi-trade MEP integration of prefabricated skids, pods, and containment modules into the broader facility Master Plan.
- Cross-Border Coordination: Drive weekly technical alignment workshops and clash-detection reviews between local design consultants, local Architects of Record (AOR), and remote factory manufacturing engineering teams.
- Clash Detection & Quality Assurance: Manage the Common Data Environment (CDE) and lead clash detection workflows to eliminate structural, architectural, and MEP layout conflicts prior to manufacturing release.
- Pre-Sales Support: Assist the pre-sales and architectural solutions team with rapid master planning, spatial optimization, and high-fidelity 3D renderings for client RFP responses.
- Vendor & Supply Chain Alignment: Review technical shop drawing submissions and digital component assets from regional modular vendors and equipment suppliers to ensure data integrity.
Core Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Civil/Structural Engineering, Building Services, or a related discipline.
- Experience: Minimum 6–8+ years of hands-on BIM coordination experience, with at least 3 years explicitly focused on Data Centers, mission-critical infrastructure, or modular/prefabricated (DfMA) construction projects.
- Technical Software Stack: Expert-level mastery of Autodesk Revit, Navisworks Manage, and AutoCAD. Familiarity with BIM 360/Autodesk Construction Cloud, InDesign, or Synchro 4D is highly advantageous.
- Language Proficiency: Professional fluency in Mandarin and English is mandatory (both spoken and written). You must be completely comfortable leading complex, technical engineering debates with factory engineers in Mandarin.
- Industry Standards: Thorough working knowledge of Hong Kong CIC BIM Standards, statutory building regulations, and structural/MEP integration practices.
What the Client Offers
- Competitive base monthly salary range (negotiable based on depth of modular DC experience).
- Performance-based annual bonus and comprehensive medical benefits.
- Opportunity to work at the absolute forefront of AI-era infrastructure scaling with an industry pioneer.
