Role Overview

A skilled and experienced Paraplanner is sought to join this growing advisory team based in Liverpool. Working in close partnership with the firm's financial advisers, you will take ownership of the research, analysis, and preparation of comprehensive suitability reports and financial planning recommendations. The role carries a particular emphasis on pensions, investment advice, and inheritance tax planning, and will suit a technically strong paraplanner who takes pride in the quality and accuracy of their work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Suitability Report Writing: Produce detailed, accurate, and well-reasoned suitability reports and financial planning recommendations in support of adviser-client meetings, with a particular focus on pensions, investments, and inheritance tax planning.
  • Research & Analysis: Carry out thorough research to underpin advice recommendations, ensuring full compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards, and best practice guidance.
  • Consumer Duty Compliance: Ensure all reports and recommendations reflect the FCA's Consumer Duty principles, placing clients' best interests at the centre of the advice process and maintaining transparency and fairness throughout.
  • Adviser Liaison: Maintain close and effective communication with financial advisers to develop a thorough understanding of client objectives and ensure reports are delivered accurately and on time.
  • Client File Management: Keep client files accurate, complete, and up to date, applying a consistent high standard of attention to detail across all records.
  • Regulatory Adherence: Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with FCA regulations, internal compliance procedures, and company policy.
  • Team Collaboration: Contribute positively to the wider team, supporting advisers and colleagues as required to facilitate smooth and efficient client service delivery.

Key Requirements

Experience & Qualifications

  • A minimum of three years' paraplanning experience within a UK IFA environment.
  • Demonstrable experience across a broad range of products and wrappers, including protection, pensions, bonds, and trusts.
  • Experience with complex IHT planning solutions, including AIM-listed investments and Business Relief (BR) products, is highly desirable.
  • The Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (or an equivalent qualification) is required. Candidates who are close to completion and can demonstrate the relevant technical experience will be considered.
  • A sound working knowledge of FCA regulations, including the Consumer Duty framework.

  • Strong technical knowledge across pensions, investment planning, and inheritance tax.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with experience managing multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Proficient in financial planning software and the Microsoft Office Suite.

 Salary Package:
