Location: Bath & London (Hybrid: 1 day/week in London, 1 day/week in Bath)
Salary: £54,000 plus discretionary bonus, with generous benefits package

Introduction

RGH Global is excited to partner with our client, a leading financial services provider, to recruit a CASS Specialist with expertise in CASS 6, 7, and 8. This role is pivotal in ensuring the protection of client assets and monies through robust CASS compliance. The successful candidate will drive continuous improvement of controls, apply market best practices, and contribute to delivering departmental and individual targets to the highest standards. This position requires innovative, solution-focused thinking and strong technical knowledge.

The role requires 2 days/week in-office (1 day in London, 1 day in Bath).

About the Role

Our client is an FCA-authorised financial services firm offering regulated outsourcing services within the financial technology investment sector. As a CASS Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting front and back-office operations, ensuring compliance with CASS regulations, and enhancing client experience.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a first-line CASS oversight function within operations.
  • Drive process improvements for scalability, efficiency, regulatory adherence, and client experience.
  • Handle escalations for CASS-related technical queries.
  • Deliver CASS training sessions (from induction to Board level).
  • Plan and coordinate internal and external audits.
  • Prepare and present CASS adherence reports to senior leadership.
  • Advise teams on regulatory CASS activities, including reconciliations, cash management, and deposit allocations.
  • Conduct trend analysis on breaches/near misses and recommend process improvements.
  • Maintain and update CASS policies, Frameworks, and Control Matrix, including monthly attestations and sample testing.
  • Support CMAR submissions and escalations.
  • Monitor Unbreakable Term Deposit (UTD) liquidity and sign off on Minimum Trade Cycle (MTC) funding requirements twice daily.
  • Lead a small team and perform due diligence on new and existing banking/custodial partners.
  • Undertake additional tasks as directed by management.

Essential Skills

  • Strong expertise in CASS 6, 7, and 8.
  • In-depth financial services experience, particularly with wrap platforms.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proactive, with the ability to work independently and take ownership.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Innovative problem-solving skills with persuasion and influencing abilities.
  • Proficient in MS Office products.

Desirable Skills

  • Degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience in a CASS oversight role.
  • Industry-recognised qualifications (e.g., CASS CISI, Investment Management Certificate (IMC), or Operations Certificate (IOC)).
