Senior Product Owner
The Senior Product Owner is responsible for translating business requirements into actionable technical tasks for a Scrum Agile development team. This role involves maintaining and prioritizing the product backlog, ensuring that stories are clear and detailed for high-quality software development. The Senior Product Owner acts as a bridge between the development team and business stakeholders, managing expectations and resolving technical issues. They specialize in one of the following areas: back-office revenue solutions, front-end systems, transport-specific solutions, or data products.
Knowledge
A thorough understanding of scrum agile development principles, with a willingness to adapt and learn.
- Strong Scrum Agile knowledge, adaptable and eager to learn.
- Essential expertise in business intelligence, data warehousing, modeling, and big data.
- Software development and delivery experience.
- Product Ownership certification is a plus.
- Relevant degree or technical qualification.
- Familiarity with agile tools like Team Foundation Server.
- Understanding of IT legislation, including Data Protection and FOIA.

- Expert in problem-solving and collaborative communication, leveraging technology effectively.
- Strong influencer across teams, peers, and stakeholders, making critical decisions that drive project success.
- Highly adept at multitasking complex tasks, including requirements management, backlog refinement, prioritization, and acceptance.
- Exceptional communicator, capable of translating complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and presenting business requirements to technical teams.
- Proficient in systems analysis, essential for building data warehouse and analytics solutions.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Product Manager/Owner in an agile team.
- Experience delivering products in TfL categories.
- Successful track record in dynamic environments, managing multiple tasks on time and within budget.
- Desirable: Knowledge of public transport operations.
- Extensive expertise in requirements gathering, analysis, and validation, especially in data warehouse implementations and reporting.
