Salary: NZD $87,538 - $108,008 per annum

About the Role
We are seeking experienced Registered Midwives to join New Zealand's public healthcare system, delivering high-quality, women-focused care in a busy, multicultural maternity environment.
In this role, you will work in partnership with women and their whānau, providing maternity care during the inpatient stay. Youll contribute to primary, secondary, and tertiary services and collaborate with Lead Maternity Carers (LMCs) and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal outcomes for mothers and babies.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver evidence-based midwifery care in line with New Zealand Midwifery Standards of Practice
- Provide antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal support within the hospital

Develop, implement, and evaluate maternity care plans

Facilitate transfers and respond to obstetric emergencies
- Support quality improvement initiatives and contribute to policy and service development
- Promote culturally safe and responsive care, honouring Te Tiriti o Waitangi
Requirements

New Zealand Registered Midwife (or eligible for registration)

Current Annual Practising Certificate (or eligible)

Recent midwifery experience or completion of a Return to Practice Programme

Strong interpersonal skills with a commitment to collaborative care

Understanding of cultural safety and equity principles in healthcare

Ability to work effectively under pressure in a multidisciplinary setting
