The Opportunity
The firm is looking for an experienced Trust & Tax Manager to join their well-established and award-winning Private Client team. This person will work alongside a close-knit team, managing a portfolio of trust and estate clients many of whom are high-net-worth individuals and families.

This is a technically focused role that requires strong compliance knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to manage time-critical work in a high-standard service environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing self-assessment tax returns for trusts, estates, and individuals
  • Preparing CGT returns for UK property disposals
  • Producing annual trust accounts and managing annual compliance
  • Preparing inheritance tax returns (e.g. for 10-year charges, exit charges, life interest terminations)
  • Arranging tax payments and corresponding with HMRC
  • Managing FATCA and CRS compliance obligations
  • Registering and maintaining trusts via HMRCs Trust Registration Service
  • Liaising with trustees, beneficiaries, investment advisers, and other professionals
  • Attending trustee meetings when appropriate
  • Tracking deadlines and ensuring timely submissions and compliance

Candidate Profile
Candidates should bring a significant relevant experience and confidence working with high-value clients in a professional environment. Excellent technical ability, organisation, and client communication skills are essential.

Requirements:

  • Significant experience in trust and tax compliance
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines
  • Comfortable liaising with clients and professional advisers

Desirable:

  • Experience using CCH tax/accounting software
  • ATT or CTA qualified
