IT Network Infrastructure Engineer

What You'll Do:

• Network Management: Maintain and optimize our network infrastructure, including switching, routing, wireless systems, and firewalls.
• Technical Support: Provide expert technical support to over 4000 clinical and administrative staff, ensuring high availability of critical systems.
• Innovation & Improvement: Drive continuous service improvement and develop IT infrastructure in line with industry best practices.
• Security & Resilience: Implement and uphold network security measures, supporting the Trusts data security policies.
• Collaboration: Work closely with IT teams and represent IT in various project teams, contributing to strategic decisions.

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot complex IT issues and maintain efficient network services.
• Keep network infrastructure updated with the latest firmware and drivers.
• Assist in developing and maintaining disaster recovery plans.
• Participate in research and development to integrate new technologies.
• Support the automation of network tasks to enhance efficiency.

What You Bring:

• Qualifications & Experience: Proven experience or qualifications in IT Networks, with at least 2 years in a technical environment and 1 year in an enterprise LAN/WAN setting.
• Technical Expertise: Extensive knowledge of IT standards, security/VPNs, network switching and routing, firewall management, and proxy servers.
• Skills: Excellent written communication, sound negotiation skills, and the ability to analyse and resolve complex infrastructure issues.
• Team Spirit: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work proactively and collaboratively.
