Location: Leicester (hybrid working after probation)
Salary: £35,000 – £41,000

The Opportunity

An established and growing financial planning firm is seeking an experienced Paraplanner to provide technical support to Financial Advisers and help deliver high-quality client outcomes. This role offers the opportunity to work on a broad range of cases, carrying out research, analysis, and report writing while supporting advisers in developing suitable financial planning recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct provider and product research, including fund performance reviews, risk analysis, and cashflow modelling using industry-standard tools.
  • Produce personalised and compliant suitability reports tailored to individual client circumstances and objectives.
  • Analyse Fact Finds and Know Your Client (KYC) documentation to identify appropriate financial planning solutions.
  • Provide technical support and research to advisers, delivering evidence-based recommendations.
  • Manage complex cases from initial review through to completion, resolving technical queries and ensuring appropriate outcomes.
  • Work independently to manage workloads effectively, meeting agreed deadlines and service standards.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, advisers, and colleagues via telephone, email, and written correspondence.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a consistent level of service and provide support across the wider team when required.

Skills & Experience

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Previous paraplanning experience within a financial planning or wealth management environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of pensions, investments, retirement planning, and financial products.
  • Proven suitability report writing skills and the ability to interpret client information accurately.
  • Experience in:

    • Investment and fund analysis
    • Risk profiling and portfolio research
    • Cashflow forecasting and modelling
  • A client-focused approach with a commitment to delivering excellent service.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong understanding of compliance requirements.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks and manage deadlines effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Experience using financial planning software and back-office systems would be advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (DipPFS) or equivalent, or currently working towards completion.
