 Job Description:

Paraplanner

Financial Planning Firm | Kettering (Hybrid) | £30,000 – £50,000 DOE

About the Firm

This is an established and growing financial planning firm based near Kettering, working with a diverse and sophisticated client base that includes business owners, technology professionals, high-net-worth individuals, and families. Their specialist areas span retirement planning, wealth management, investment advice, and protection — delivering holistic, bespoke financial planning at every stage of a client's journey.

The firm has a strong culture of professional development and invests heavily in its people, with full support available for those looking to progress toward Chartered status.

The Role

A newly available opportunity has arisen for a Paraplanner to join the team on a hybrid basis, supporting two experienced Financial Advisers. This is a pivotal role within the business — you will sit at the heart of the advice process, working closely with advisers to translate complex client objectives into clear, well-researched, and compliant suitability reports and recommendations.

You will be joining a supportive team environment where your contribution is genuinely valued, and where there is a clear pathway for career progression for the right individual.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare high-quality suitability reports and letters of recommendation across pensions, investments, protection, and retirement planning cases
  • Conduct detailed research and analysis to support adviser recommendations, including platform, fund, and product comparisons
  • Work closely with two Financial Advisers to manage case workflow and ensure timely delivery of client documentation
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, FCA regulations, and product developments
  • Liaise with providers, platforms, and back-office systems to obtain valuations, illustrations, and policy information
  • Assist with the preparation of client review documentation and meeting packs
  • Ensure all files and records meet internal compliance standards
  • Support advisers with ad hoc technical queries and research requests

About You

  • Previous experience in a Paraplanning or technical financial services role — either fully qualified or working towards qualifications
  • Strong working knowledge of financial planning across retirement, investment, and protection disciplines
  • Experience preparing suitability reports and navigating the advice process end-to-end
  • Comfortable working with a variety of client profiles, including HNWIs and business owners
  • Organised, detail-focused, and able to manage a varied caseload to meet deadlines
  • Strong written communication skills — clear, accurate, and client-appropriate
  • A proactive team player who is self-motivated and takes ownership of their work
  • CII Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning (or working towards it) is desirable — though candidates at varying stages of qualification will be considered

What's on Offer

  • Salary of £30,000 – £50,000 depending on experience and qualifications
  • Hybrid working — a blend of office and home working
  • Full exam support and study time for CII qualifications, including towards Chartered Financial Planner status
  • Genuine career progression within a growing firm
  • Supportive, collaborative team environment
  • Exposure to a broad and high-quality client base

Location

Based near Kettering, Northamptonshire. Candidates should be within a commutable distance of the office. Hybrid working is available once settled into the role.
