About the Client

Due to a massive pipeline of hyper-dense modular data center builds, they are looking for a high-caliber Chief Electrical Engineer to take complete technical ownership of their global critical power product lines.

Role Overview

The Chief Engineer (Electrical) will act as the ultimate technical authority for the hyper-dense, multi-megawatt critical power distribution systems powering the modular data center frameworks. You will bridge the gap between initial pre-sales engineering, complex equipment vendor selections, and real-time factory fabrication. Rather than designing traditional brick-and-mortar building services, you will engineer, productize, and validate heavy power skids and battery storage modules built for high-density AI clusters.

Because our client's primary manufacturing facilities, key component suppliers, and production teams are located in Mainland China, native or professional fluency in Mandarin is strictly required for this role.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Skid Design: Lead and validate electrical layouts and schematic designs for multi-megawatt prefabricated modular systems, heavy critical power skids, and advanced battery energy storage systems (BESS).

Technical Calculations & Sign-off: Author, review, and formally sign off on high-level Medium Voltage / Low Voltage (MV/LV) distribution architectures, short-circuit calculations, and arc-flash analysis (utilizing ETAP or equivalent software).

Factory Floor Integration: Partner directly with manufacturing plants in Mainland China to resolve real-time shop floor engineering challenges, component delays, and alternative component validations without disrupting production timelines.

Testing & Quality Assurance: Lead rigorous Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) at production facilities in China and oversee final structural Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) for client deployments globally.

Cross-Trade Synchronization: Collaborate closely with the Mechanical (Thermal) and BIM teams to physically package heavy electrical switchgear, UPS topologies, and power loops within standard transportable shipping container and DfMA limits.

Pre-Sales & RFP Support: Assist the pre-sales solutions team by rapidly reviewing client technical specifications and developing robust, scalable electrical concepts for fast-moving hyperscale RFP responses.

Core Requirements

Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

Professional Status: Chartered Engineer (CEng), Registered Professional Engineer (R.P.E.) in Hong Kong, or Uptime Institute ATD status is highly preferred.

Experience: Minimum 8–12+ years of hands-on electrical engineering experience, with at least 5 years explicitly focused on hyper-scale Data Center critical infrastructure, MV/LV switchgear, and UPS systems. Experience with modular/prefabricated (DfMA) power skids is a distinct advantage.

Technical Software Stack: Proficient in electrical simulation tools (such as ETAP), AutoCAD, and navigating BIM ecosystems (Revit/Navisworks) for multi-disciplinary coordination.

Language Proficiency: Professional fluency in Mandarin and English is mandatory (both spoken and written). You must be completely comfortable switching from high-level client presentations in English to intense engineering debates with factory floor managers in Mandarin.
