PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

  • To drive the company's growth by promoting and selling waste management and environmental solutions in the Energy Sector.

  • To identify new business opportunities, cultivating strong client relationships, and implementing sales strategies aligned with sustainable practices.
  • To achieve sales targets while ensuring customer satisfaction and contributing to the overall success of the organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Staff Resources

Ensure the Lüderitz Branch and related projects are fully operational, overseeing successful operations. Supervise staff and identify training needs at the Lüderitz Branch and related projects.

Company Assets & Maintenance

Ensure that Lüderitz Branch and related Project(s) are correctly maintained and fully operational regarding company assets.

Security / Risk Assessment

Assess the risk factors of the Lüderitz Branch and related projects, overseeing security services. Ensure the KRONOS Electronic Clocking System is functional, with daily checks and reports managed by supervisors, administrators, or team leaders. Authorize work hours (including overtime) weekly, either electronically or manually.

Health and Safety (inbound)

Supervise checks on PPE, ID cards, firefighting equipment, CCTV, and security. Ensure legal compliance, report and investigate safety deviations, and ensure PTW adherence. Conduct waste management audits and submit reports to the client and Commercial Manager.

Training

Overall supervision to ensure that training needs at all levels of staff are identified and that where necessary, such training requirements are communicated to HR Department.

Tracking System

Supervise and ensure the tracking system on vehicles at the Lüderitz Branch and related projects is operational. Report any deviations or "System offline" issues with specific vehicles or trucks to the CEO.

Reports to Windhoek (Head Office) and Commercial Manager

Monthly reports are to be submitted electronically.

Meet with Clients

Conduct monthly meetings with clients to ensure RAD service excellence, address customer needs for additional services or changes, and handle satisfaction, dissatisfaction, or complaints.

Budget Control

Supervise and monitor to ensure cost limitations and adherence to budget constraints within the Lüderitz Branch and related projects, optimizing the potential for earning the monthly production bonus for employees and yourself.

Logistics
Overall smooth flow of vehicles (fleet) and booking of recyclables & refuse-derived fuel to Windhoek.


Increase Revenue

Increase income by acquiring new customers and boosting transaction frequency with existing clients. Drive profitable revenue growth through business development and the introduction of new services and products in Lüderitz.

Stakeholder Engagement

Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including municipalities, private companies, and oil and gas partners. Stay professionally proficient through workshops, publications, and networking. Meet with customers to address evolving needs and implement sales strategies to capture key demographics. Accountable for internal and external communication.

Commercial Support

Support the commercial team with customer relationship management, new business development, tender preparation, and submissions.

Market
Execute sales objectives by forecasting annual quotas for regions and territories, driving sales volume and profit for existing and new products. Develop and implement regional sales programs and action plans. Analyze the market to execute sales strategies and campaigns, ensuring optimal product and service delivery.

Service Delivery

Grows the brand and contracts with distribution channels regarding budget targets and incentive requirements.

Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients to ensure customer satisfaction, loyalty, and repeat business.


Product Knowledge

Continuously updating and deepening knowledge about the products or services offered, enabling effective communication and sales efforts.


New Business 

  • Identifies business growth opportunities and executes customer acquisition and retention plans.
    Cultivate and maintain productive relationships with key advisors, ensuring support for initiatives. 
  • Monitor sales volume, product mix, and pricing by staying informed on supply and demand, trends, economic indicators, and competitors. 
  • Provide monthly reports on field sales success and communicate data to superiors. 
  • Maintain client, account, and activity data, documenting customer interactions.

QUALIFICATION AND RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree OR Diploma Business Management or Sales or a relevant field (NQF 7).
  • 7+ years of management experience, preferably in waste management or a related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of integrated waste management practices will be an added advantage.
  • Proven sales capability and experience in business development.
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement, particularly with municipalities, private companies, local businesses, and in the oil and gas sector.
  • Advanced computer literacy and proficiency in cost estimating software.
  • Strong managerial and leadership capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
