Accounts & Finance Specialist (Remote South Africa)

Location: Remote (South Africa)
Working Hours: Monday-Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM GMT (UK hours/ Flexible)
Salary: £1,500 (dependent on experience)

About the Role

Our Client with multiple subsidiaries is seeking an experienced Accounts & Finance Specialist based in South Africa to manage financial operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, reconciliations, and reporting. The role requires strong proficiency in Xero and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable & Revenue Management

• Process and manage 150+ invoices per month (small-amount, high-volume transactions).
• Track payments from multiple chain stores and ensure timely collections.
• Follow up on overdue accounts and maintain a healthy cash flow.

Accounts Payable & Contractor Payments

• Manage accounts payable for contractors, ensuring accurate and timely payments.
• Oversee two pay runs per month and verify payment accuracy.
• Reconcile vendor accounts and contractor payments.

Financial Reconciliations & Reporting

• Ensure financial accuracy by staying on top of transactions.
• Reconcile bank statements, invoices, and payments to prevent discrepancies.
• Generate and analyze financial reports for decision-making.
• Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for finance workflows.
• Import and manage financial data in Xero, including CSV imports and reconciliations.

Requirements

• Proven experience using Xero for invoicing, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Experience handling high-volume, small-value invoices and financial transactions.
• Ability to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
• Familiarity with HubSpot and financial data management tools is an advantage.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
