**Only for American region** Your Specific Responsibilities:
This position is assigned to the Bureau of Public Health Laboratories, Data Operations, for the Newborn Screening Program. Duties of this position involve leading the Data Entry Operators and fundamental principles and practices, arithmetic, office procedures, filing practices and essential computer skills.
Responsible for accurate input of data from the Newborn Screening and Microbiology laboratory specimen forms into the laboratory information management systems and Specimen Gate. This demographic information is the basis for the laboratory tracking and reporting network.
Related duties as required, including, but not limited to verification of data entry and performing other miscellaneous clerical duties as needed at the discretion of the supervisor or designee.
Assist in mailing of laboratory specimen reports, including, but not limited to printing labels, stuffing envelopes, sorting reports and delivering them to the mail room.
Assist in the Customer Services Unit as needed.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of administrative principles and practices. Knowledge of office procedures and practices.
Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data relating to administrative functions.
Ability to prepare correspondence and administrative reports.
Ability to work independently and communicate effectively.
Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
Qualifications:
Minimum - High School Diploma or Equivalent.
