Job Summary:




A dynamic Chicago law firm is seeking a litigation attorney with US experience and exceptional writing skills. This role requires a legal expert adept at crafting compelling and persuasive arguments in complex civil litigation within the federal arena. The ideal candidate will have a strong command of language to analyze intricate legal issues, particularly those related to federal rules of civil procedure, securities law, corporate governance, and fiduciary duties.

 Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Drafting and filing impeccably written pleadings, including persuasive motions to dismiss, in federal court.
  • Conducting incisive legal research and analysis, transforming complex legal concepts related to securities fraud, corporate waste, breach of fiduciary duty, and misrepresentation into clear and compelling prose.
  • Meticulously analyzing complaints, identifying legal deficiencies with laser-like precision, and articulating those deficiencies with persuasive clarity.
  • Developing robust litigation strategies and providing astute legal counsel to clients, all communicated through polished and persuasive written advocacy.
  • Interpreting and applying federal statutes and case law, including the Private Securities Litigation Reform Act (PSLRA) and SEC rules, with the ability to articulate these applications in persuasive legal writing.




Qualifications:



  • Minimum  5 years of litigation experience in US federal courts.
  • Admission to the Illinois bar (or willingness to obtain admission promptly).
  • Magnificent writing skills, demonstrated by the ability to produce clear, concise, persuasive, and grammatically flawless legal documents.
  • Strong knowledge of federal rules of civil procedure, particularly Rule 12(b)(6).
  • Experience with securities litigation and the PSLRA is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with Delaware corporate law is an asset.
  • Excellent legal research and analytical skills.
  • Strong oral advocacy and communication skills.
