About the role: 

Our client is seeking a Career Support Specialist to provide ongoing vocational and rehabilitative supports to individuals with mental health challenges including psychosis, depression, and anxiety. The goal of the client program is to reduce or prevent functional outcome decline and support individuals in returning or finding work and educational opportunities. We are seeking qualified applicants to fill a part-time Supported employment and education specialist position in the Turning Point Program. 


This position is grant funded and is up for renewal annually in September.

The individual working in this role can expect to work between 10 and 25 hours per week, with some flexibilities for telework.


Our client offers a team environment and flexible work hours and encourages collaboration with other staff including peer support specialist, education and employment specialists, outpatient therapists, case managers, and psychiatrists.

What You'll Do:

  • Ensure that the vocational needs and goals of individuals on your caseload are met consistently over time.
  • Manage and ensure compliance for all documentation related to the supports provided to the individual.
  • Travel to a diverse portfolio of work sites and help ensure a sustainable job experience for the individuals on your caseload.
  • Utilize IPS model of supports for youth and young adults
  • Provide effective vocational support utilizing the Coordinated Specialty Care framework for services
  • Develop and implement treatment plans to promote progress of client in vocational and educational goals.
  • Timely clinical documentation into EHR that meets requisite agency, Federal, Medicaid, MCO and licensure standards.
  • Administer to all youth being served related data tools completed at identified data collection points.
  • Attend youth and family team meetings as appropriate. Coach individuals on how to advocate for themselves.
  • Document of all services, contacts and attempted contact with client, their family and collaterals.
  • Maintain healthy boundaries with clients and their families.
  • Attend all mandatory county and state trainings as appropriate. Participate in individual and group coaching, as required.
  • Carry a work phone and provide telephone and face

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of experience providing vocational services in a human services environment
  • Be a proficient user level of MS Suite and an EHR
  • Bilingual and multilingual candidates encouraged to apply
  • One year of experience working with individuals with mental health challenges required.
  • Driver's License and access to reliable personal transportation required.
  • 3 years of experience providing services to youth and families with complex mental health, substance use and co-occurring disorders
  • 1-2 years of experience providing vocational services in a human services environment
  • Experience with and participating in CSC interventions or in school related (IEP, 504) meetings
  • Experience collaborating with families, natural supports, and other community stakeholders
  • Experience providing clinical documentation necessary to maintain client records including treatment planning, progress notes, quarterly reviews and annual assessments

Education Required

Minimum High school diploma or GED required.

Education Preferred

Bachelor's or master's degree in rehabilitation, counseling, social work, nursing, or a related human services field.
