We are looking for Head of Logistics Operations to responsible for overseeing and optimizing all aspects of an organization's logistics and supply chain operations. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of goods, materials, and services from suppliers to customers, while also maintaining cost-effectiveness and high service levels. The Head of Logistics Operations collaborates closely with various departments, including procurement, warehousing, transportation, and customer service, to achieve organizational goals.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement logistics strategies, policies, and procedures that align with the overall business objectives. Evaluate the existing logistics processes and identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
- Supply Chain Management: Oversee the end-to-end supply chain, including procurement, inventory management, and distribution. Ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment while minimizing costs and inventory holding.
- Team Leadership: Manage and lead a team of logistics professionals, providing guidance, training, and mentorship. Create a positive and motivating work environment to promote collaboration and productivity.
- Performance Monitoring: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for logistics operations and regularly monitor and analyze the metrics. Identify areas for enhancement and take appropriate actions to meet or exceed performance targets.
- Vendor Management: Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to negotiate favorable terms, manage contracts, and ensure the timely delivery of goods and services. Build strong and strategic partnerships to enhance the supply chain.
- Transportation and Warehousing: Optimize transportation routes and methods to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery. Oversee warehouse operations to maintain efficient storage, handling, and distribution of goods.
- Compliance and Regulations: Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and internal policies regarding safety, security, and environmental standards.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks in logistics operations and develop contingency plans to mitigate disruptions in the supply chain.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred but not always mandatory.
- Experience: A proven track record of at least 8-10 years in progressively responsible logistics or supply chain management roles, with a minimum of 3-5 years in a leadership capacity.
- Industry Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of logistics and supply chain principles, including procurement, transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and distribution.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and managerial abilities to guide and motivate a diverse team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Analytical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis and the ability to interpret complex information to make informed decisions and identify optimization opportunities.
- Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to identify issues, propose solutions, and make critical decisions under pressure.
- Adaptability: A flexible approach to manage changing priorities and work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Technological Proficiency: Familiarity with logistics management software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is beneficial.
- Industry Knowledge: Staying up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and innovations to enhance logistics operations.
- Certifications: Optional but advantageous certifications such as Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) may be considered.
