About the job Programmer Analyst
Our client is currently searching for a Programmer Analyst to join their Information Technology team in Montreal.
In this role you will develop and maintain new software applications to support business requirements throughout the production lifecycle.
Responsibilities :
- Collaborate with IT members in the development and maintenance of software programs and applications.
- Analyze and assess existing business systems and procedures.
- Assist in the development and documentation of softwares business requirements on a project-by-project basis in collaboration with internal users and departments.
- Assist in defining software development project plans, including scoping, scheduling, and implementation.
- Conduct research on emerging application development software products, languages, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.
- Liaise with the Operations and potentially with vendors, for efficient implementation of new software products or systems and for resolution of any adaptation issues.
- Recommend, schedule, and perform software improvements and upgrades.
- Write programming scripts to enhance functionality and/or performance of company applications as necessary.
- Liaise with IT members and Operations to assist in resolving software application and product problems.
- Design, run and monitor software performance tests on new and existing programs for the purposes of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement, and general debugging.
- Administer critical analysis of test results and deliver solutions to problem areas.
- Generate statistics and write reports for management and/or team members on the status of the programming process.
- Develop and maintain user manuals and guidelines.
About You :
- Completion of a Bachelor Degree in computer science or software engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years experience
- Proficiency in a variety of programming languages including: VB .Net, .NET, T- SQL and ASP.NET.
- Operating systems experience with MS-SQL 2008, WIN XP and WIN 7/8.
- Hands-on experience developing test cases and test plans.
- You will also have Cloud development and Power BI knowledge
- Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
- Able to communicate effectively with non-technical staff and with members of interdisciplinary teams.
- Flexible and adaptable in regards to learning and understanding new technologies.
- Ability to conduct research into software-related issues and products.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Bilingual ( French & English)
Nice to Have :
- Ideally, you will also have knowledge with Snowflake
- ETL and ELT
