What Were Looking For:

• Experience: At least five years in a similar role within the structural steel industry, with a solid understanding of steel fabrication and erection processes.
• Proficiency in structural steel estimating, including labor and material take-offs.
• Experience in reviewing contract drawings, specifications, and vendor quotes.
• Construction industry experience.
• Preferences:
• Strong computer skills, particularly with Bluebeam, Outlook, and Microsoft Office.
• A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline (preferred but not required).

Your Day-to-Day:

• Estimating & Take-Offs: Prepare accurate computer-aided and hand take-offs of structural steel components, detailing labor and material estimates.
• Document Review: Analyze contract documents, drawings, specifications, and vendor/sub-tier quotes to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Summary Reports: Produce estimate summaries identifying standard and special project requirements, including buy-out items.
• Mentorship: Assist in the training and development of Estimators in Training, contributing to the team's overall growth.
