Business Development Manager – Ireland

Ireland | €75,000 + 15% Commission | Home Based / Field Sales

We are recruiting for an experienced Business Development Manager to join an established international manufacturer of factory automation technology, taking responsibility for developing its business across Ireland.

This is predominantly a new business position, with approximately 80% of the role focused on identifying and developing new customers and 20% managing existing accounts and partners.

You will be selling a broad portfolio of factory automation products and solutions into OEMs, machine builders, system integrators and manufacturing customers across sectors including pharmaceutical, medical device, food & beverage and mobile machinery.

The company has ambitious plans for Ireland and is looking for someone who can initially take ownership of developing the territory, with the longer-term opportunity to play a key role in building the Irish operation as the business grows.

The Role

• Develop new business throughout Ireland
• Identify and engage OEMs, machine builders, system integrators and key end users
• Develop existing customers and distribution partners
• Manage the full sales process from prospecting and initial meetings through to demonstrations, quotations and closing business
• Sell a broad range of factory automation technology and solutions
• Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline
• Spend approximately four days per week customer-facing
• Work closely with internal technical and engineering teams

The Candidate

We are looking for an experienced technical sales professional with a strong background within factory or industrial automation.

Ideally, you will have experience selling products such as sensors, machine vision, encoders, measurement, safety, motion or related automation technology.

You should be comfortable developing new business rather than purely managing existing accounts and have experience selling into OEMs, machine builders, system integrators or manufacturing environments.

Previous experience covering the Irish market and an established network within industrial automation would be highly advantageous.

Package

• Basic salary approximately €75,000
• 15% commission
• Home-based / field-based position
