Job Description:
Third Party Motor Claims Handler (TPPD) | Bolton | £24,479 – £35,000
Location: Bolton, BL7 (on site)
Type: Permanent — full-time
Hours: 35 hours per week — Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm. Flexible working patterns available.
Salary: £24,479 – £35,000 dependent on experience

Key Responsibilities
- Handle third-party vehicle and property damage claims: manage all aspects including investigation, negotiation and resolution.
- Investigate liability: work with other departments and conduct own investigations to determine fault and liability.
- Manage complex files: more advanced cases including high-value claims and those with liability disputes.
- Work with credit hire claims: assess and manage credit hire aspects including validation, negotiation, and challenge of excessive hire charges.
- Liaise with external parties: solicitors, insurers and accident management companies.
- Identify fraud: recognise and escalate potentially fraudulent activity for further review.
- Prioritise workload and team duties: organise own caseload while supporting wider team responsibilities.
- Provide excellent service: consistently high standard with all parties to the claim.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum 2 years' motor claims experience required to be considered for the upper end of the salary range.
- Third party or credit hire experience strongly preferred.
- Excellent customer service and computer skills — confident across multiple systems.
- Active listening and relationship building.
- High attention to detail and sound judgement on liability.
- Holds or willing to work towards the CII Certificate — fully funded and supported.
- GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths.
